Someone mentioned they liked to contact authors, and would like to acknowledge editors too, but didn't know how to contact them. I list my editors in the end-notes, but can't list active links to them (using < a href="address"> html commands).

I was wondering whether we could, or if you thought it was beneficial, to add this functionality to the site.

It would allow individual readers to thank editor for their exception work, as well as allowing authors to contact the editors of the better-edited stories for consultation.

I suppose the downside is that it opens the End Note to potential malicious links (what spammer is going to write a full fictional story just to add spam links?), but it's at least worth discussing. If nothing else, if editors signed on as official SOL authors, you (Lazeez) could do a check against authorized editors.

Either that or possibly listing them on the story index page (the one with the list of chapters).

In theory it's a good idea, but the potential for misuse is high, I think. You could always just add a bit in the end note to say something like:

If you are seeking a good editor, please contact me and I'll send it on to my editors for consideration by them.

That way the people who are really interested will use the feedback to contact you with their email address you can then send on to your editors to consider and decide on. This also has the advantage of not giving out their email without their approval before hand.

I kind of like the idea of listing editors of a story, so readers can get to know them, but I've learned you NEVER do that with published works, as then the editor gets equal billing as the author as the creator of the story! Allowing authors to list their editors might be an alternative, is the system lists them. Any other not wanted to be accredited could be left off, and any not wanting to be contact could simply specify "no feedback" on an "editor" page.

Whether that would add anything meaningful to the site or not is an open question, however, but it might get more newbie authors listing their editors (who often change frequently, which somewhat negates my suggestion is someone only edits a couple chapters of a hundred chapter story).
