"Contact author" on story page

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

While reading a story, I found an error that I thought the author would want to know about so I scrolled to the bottom, hit "Contact Author," and sent him a message.

Then I went back to where I had been reading. Shortly afterward, I found another error so I scrolled down to send the author another message. But the "Contact Author" button wasn't there.

I left the story and came back to it. Now the "Contact Author" button was there so I sent the author the second message.

Should the "Contact Author" button have gone away?

it gets replaced with 'sent', I guess I should revise it to make it work better for repeated messages.

My approach there is not to send the message until I've finished the chapter, and if I screw up and send it too early, to hit Refresh - the button is back then.

That used to be how I did it, but all too often I would hit the next chapter link when I reached it, rather than scrolling down to the message I'd forgotten about. Now I send immediately, and if I need to send a second, I refresh the page to get the button back.

What he said. If I put it off, I won't remember until multiple chapters later.

I don't send many typo corrections so I don't even know if I ever sent two messages on the same chapter before. But the first error was critical enough to let the author know about. It was the wrong character name.

So when I came upon another typo shortly thereafter, one that I wouldn't have bothered to notify the author ("cloths" instead of "clothes"), I figured he'd be fixing and reposting the chapter anyway so why not tell him. That's why I ended up sending two messages.
