I found a circumvention. Delete the forum post and submit the edited version as though it was a new post.

PPPS: Odd. The server is getting the response and it's being handled correctly, but the reply is completely empty.
I'm guessing this has been happening since I restored the old behavior for refreshing the page after replying.

I had that a day or two ago and had decided that SOL was using some of the JavaScript updates Google introduced a couple of years ago and which my browser still does not support.
Apologies, I should have moaned back then.
It doesn't happen to me often, but I've gotten that occasionally over a span of years.
I've generally assumed it was some sort of network glitch.
I've encountered the stuck On 'Connecting To Server'
More often than not, a simple refresh will work and show that the post went through.
