I'd have thought that was something you would need to raise with the author, it sounds like an incomplete upload.
I checked the EPUB file for the story and chapter 6 is there.
It's a huge chapter (280KB of HTML, 250 KB of text), so maybe your EPUB reader is choking on it.
What do you use to read EPUBs?
I'm downloading it to an iPhone and then opening it in the Books app.
I previously downloaded each chapter as it was published in EPUB. Each succeeding chapter containing the previous one until I tried chapter 6, which appears on download to be the same as the previous Chapter 5 ending at p482

A few days ago I updated the EPUB builder to split large chapters, and made few other enhancements.
Try downloading the current version. It should work. I tested it in Books (Mac and iPhone) and it worked as it should.
Ignore this bug report, the current version with splited large file doesn't have the problem.

I assume the encoding bug affect all epub.
But that's probably not the cause of the missing chapter issue.

That's one of the enhancements. You must have the old copy. Try downloading a fresh one. It doesn't have that problem.

I deleted the old versions from the iBooks reader and my those in my download files folder. I then downloaded the EPUB file from from the main Portraits page (A steamy Cajun Town) as suggested. It still only downloads up to the end of chapter 5!! As a check I downloaded both the zip and html versions and those indeed did contain the full version including chapter 6!!

You still have a cached version somewhere.
Is your Books app connected to iCloud? If yes and you're using iCloud library, you need to make sure to delete it from Books and choose 'Delete from Everywhere' when asked and only then download a fresh copy.
I've downloaded the EPUB and verified that it's up to chapter 6, and that the chapters are properly chunked to work in small memory situations.
I logged out of iBooks deleted the Portraits version I had there and deleted a couple of earlier downloaded versions in my files. I then downloaded the EPUP version again and opened it in Books. This time it had the full version with chapter 6!!! Many thanks for the advice!!
