Extremely Minor Issue With Homepage

Apart from the 'random story from the archives', the top entry on my homepage was Argon's TWTS blog. I refreshed the page and got a set of new content, posted after 13:10 BST. The first entry of the new content was 'Breeding Bulls', by Gigi Potemkin, posted at 13:10:21 BST. It came up with a grey background, as though I'd already seen it. All the other new content, from 'The Straight Gym Bro Brad...' to 'Variation on a Theme...' came up with a white background.

ETA - Just refreshed again. Two new entries, both correctly with a white background. So it's intermittent and not readily reproducible.

There are too many moving parts to the greying of entries that makes an intermittent issue like this almost impossible to track and fix.

I haven't seen it again since that occurrence (although I may have seen it previously - I had begun to wonder). I'll report further occurrences if they happen. If it happens often enough (which is doubtful) and others notice and report it too, perhaps you might be able to work out the commonality.

Dimming/Greying entries on the home page is done via javascript on the browser side.

Considering that you're using an ancient system, I'm not so sure where the problem may be.

I've sometimes seen things like this in the forums if my computer clock is slow. It dropped the daylight saving hour yesterday which confused the grey/white of forum posts until I corrected the clock.
