Unrequested change display theme

About 20-30min ago, new pages suddenly started rendering in 'Modern Dark' theme rather than Classic, with no apparent cause (I was refreshing the 'Problems loading pages' thread). I'll continue poking around to see if I can find the setting to change it back.

ETA: (seems to be) OK now, needed to scroll down on the 'Preferences for Listings Pages' to see the controls - I was expecting a drop-down menu. Still no idea what caused the change, which happened just before 26/04/2025, 11:27:24 ( PlaysWithWires reply in the 'Problems loading pages' thread ).

I'm not sure, but maybe cloudflare is interfering with some cookies.

This was immediately after I'd loaded the weird Cloudflare script that normally fails to load (see 'Problems loading pages' thread)

ETA: Now, after at least a day of seeing that script fail to load after everything else has loaded successfully (at least, when it wasn't a 503), there's a successful POST of 'rum' (not a blocked/failed GET) which returns a 204 ('No Content') in its place, with an initiator listed which by memory seems to be very similar to the name of the aforementioned script. And, there's an added POST of 'rum' just after the initial GET, in plain text rather than the xml of the later one, with an almost identical initiator.

I didn't check the story pages, so that may have been true here too - but the main page, forum lists and postings, and the account preferences pages were definitely affected. Anyway, a theme change wouldn't (and didn't) take effect until a load or refresh of a page.

I refreshed just now, and it changed to a Dark theme here in the forum, but my browser with the story open in it is still in the light theme.

Went in to my account settings, and it had been changed to Modern Dark.
Have changed it back to Classic.

And it seems to have stuck.
Panic over.

And here I am to complain my dark theme has changed to light. So there's no pleasing some people :-)

I went from Modern Dark to Modern when logging in forthe first time today.

My eyes!.

On the other hand, I'll take it over QUANGO interference.

That's something I've never done before. That means I'm probably up to having used about 11% of the site's facilities ;-)

Good to know it wasn't me downloading the weird blocked Cloudflare script. But, assuming there was some site access tweaking in there, modulo careful checking and bearing in mind we're just coming out of the site quieter time, it's looking good so far.

Issues with changed Theme again.
This time it's only showing when i select an Author's page.

But going into my Account, it's showing the theme as Modern w/Auto-Dark-Mode.
Changing it back to Classic fixed it (again).
