Can someone refresh me on the dot on the right side of the story entry? I've seen solid gree and grey with a center green dot.

Solid green indicator for unread. Grey indicates that you have read some of it. There's also a flag next to the dots and a downloaded arrow can be present to indicate the file was flagged and/or downloaded. Pretty sure that the arrow and flag option only applies to premium members.
