Accessing a story's index page

solitude 🚫

I believe that accessing the 'more info' page for a story neither increments my 'stories read today' count, nor does it affect the 'last accessed' timestamp for the story.

I thought that fairly recently the system was altered so that accessing the contents page of a story (the one that is essentially just links to the chapters) does not affect the story count, nor cause it to appear in my history; however, the 'last accessed' field is updated. This seems inconsistent, and means if I, say follow a link in the Lost Stories fourm I lose the ability to find out when I actually read the story! (Instead I have to go to the author's page, find the story, and use the more info tage on the story listing.)

It's not inconsistent.

When you load the index that's 'Accessing' the story. You may not have accessed its text, but you accessed it.

If I change it to only count when text is actually accessed, somebody would note that it shouldn't count until they read the whole thing or accessed some arbitrary amount of text.
