Forum: Bug Report and Feature Requests

Kudos, Lazeez!

Vincent Berg ๐Ÿšซ

I must say, Lazeez, this new forum, despite still having a few things to adjust to, seems to be drawing many more people. It's nice seeing new faces on the site, and hopefully the lack of another log-in (to GG) will keep readers visiting.

Well done. It's rare that you see a transition work out so well.

Yes, I agree. Lazeez, you have outdone yourself! Frankly, this new Forum is so much more than I expected that I am at a loss for words to heap enough praise. In other words--Thank you!

I much prefer this forum to the old GG one. It works better, is easier to use and doesn't take so damn long to load up.

As always, glad to be of service ๐Ÿ˜…

Now all you need to do is to copy the code over into Fine Stories, unless you don't want a forum there!

@Ernest Bywater

I will eventually. Currently, the core of FS's software can't support the forum. It needs an upgrade to SOL's level.

Still working on that.

I like my steak medium. not rare, not well (done).

I'm old school, having been raised eating wild meat, I prefer my kill bloody (just barely cooked, you cook it enough to boil the blood). I also eat my peas with a knife, like my mama taught me.

I have told a waitress or two when ordering a steak to "take one cow, threaten it briefly with a lit match, and serve".

Another line I have used when asked how I want my steak done is "kicking and screaming".

What do you do with the other 1999 pounds of meat when you've finished your steak?

@tppm

It goes in the fridge/freezer for later. :)

I know this is an OLD thread, but I just came across it while looking over threads I hadn't read before.

He just applies a band-aid and send's it back out to graze.

It's hard to resist a good pun just because it's no longer topical! 'D

It's nice seeing new faces on the site

I thought they were the same faces with different names (since it tags the post with the SOL name).

I'm impressed with the forum as well. I didn't think I would be using it, but it's easy to navigate. And I can ignore many threads that don't interest me.

The biggest change for me is that I need to proactively look for new posts. I guess that's not new for those of you who used the Google groups, but it is for someone who got the posts in their inbox.

I'll admit, I check this forum a Lot more often than I did the last one. Before, I could glance at it and see if there were any posts I was interested in, and if there were only one or two, I'd put it off for a couple of days. Now, not knowing how many there are, I'm checking the site several times a day (I know, can you spell "O B S E S S I O N"?).

@Switch Blayde

Switch,

On the Forum main page is a group titled All Threads by Date which I have a link to in my favourites which I check on a regular basis. This shows all the threads with new posts since I last checked. I can then check out just those threads or the few in the list I'm interested in. I find it very simple, but I view this through Fire Fox and not email.

Thanks. I thought that was something else. I thought that was the archive of all the Google Groups threads. It will help.

Good job on the new green dots in the forum, they do make things a lot easier.
