A question of how you would write this? 1/27/22

blackjack2145309 🚫

Well i haven't written a post like this in a while so i thought i'd ask a question that's been percolating in my brain relating to a harem story i've been writing.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on information or thoughts on sensual massage story scenes?

I'm mostly interested in beginner type stuff since that'll be the skill level of the male character in question giving the massage to a female harem member.

Most of those stories include the female members doing each other. One or more of them could be training the MC in how to.

Off hand, I can only think of two stories with massages in them of a sensual nature, Greg Younger's Stupid Boy series and my own New Slaves. You may want to read them for those scenes and see how they were done.

Has your male character ever received a massage? Does he care enough to do even a little research? If the answer is yes to either then he should be able to give a reasonable sensual massage. With extreme emphasis on 'give'.

The scented candles, rose petals tax are just window dressing. What you need is for your subject to be clean, warm, naked and relaxed. You need a comfortable surface for your subject to lay on, at a height that won't strain you as you reach and move.

Begin with just fingertips. Light pressure and watch carefully how her body reacts, whilst most people share a few common places, everyone is different so you need to learn which parts of her body react to your touch. This also allows her time to become accustomed to your touch and to further relax.

Now add warm massage oil and begin. Do NOT go straight for her erogenous zones and sensitive places. Begin at either the head or feet and take your time, there is no such thing as too slow in progressing, keep your hands moving smoothly with constant pressure. Gently, you are not kneading dough. Firm but gentle. Adding more warm oil as needed, your hands should glide, not rub.

That answer your question? Or do you need more details?

O.o that's actually surprisingly helpful from you, i guess if i had to ask a question it would be the what style of massage should i research? I mean i've heard style names like "swedish" "shiatsu" and there are probably a few others i'm missing but i want to understand a style that's easy for a beginner to pick up.

Don't get used to it…

I'd suggest you don't worry about the various styles and instead focus on what your male character wishes to achieve. You did state a 'sensuous massage' so presumably your male character wishes to give her pleasure, probably aiming to get his dick wet?

My thought is that if you describe the massage you don't need to name it. Save the names for when it is the only description you give.

YMMV

(Your Massage May Vary)

Rule 1: Warm your hands first!
Rule 2: See rule 1.

As a teen I learned a little massage technique, hoping I would get laid. Nope. Girls loved it when I gave a massage. Without fail they would fall asleep. (Guys too, but I didn't care about that). I am not a molester so they were perfectly safe and I was perfectly frustrated.
Now I am old and this is all I can recall about it: Warm your hands if you don't want them jumping in shock. Try to feel the energy flow in their body and work with it. Look for knotted muscles and work to release tension where they connect to bone. Gently working hands & feet was appreciated. Scalp massages / scratches too. Expect to get friend zoned in the worst way.

Basically go watch a few videos on someone giving a sensual massage, then write about what you see.

You can probably find instructional videos for it on line.

True. Especially smell. Women tend to have a more refined sense of smell as compared to males. Just because a man cannot smell something, doesn't mean a woman can't.

It may or not be literally true, but sure as hell women pay way more attention to scents and smells.

(The same with colors. It's not like guys couldn't distinguish more than six, most just don't care.)

I didn't need a study to know it though.

A single study of 7 men and 11 women is a very long way from constituting anything like proof. To adjust for confounding factors like age, ethnicity, medical history etc they'd probably need hundreds of thousands of test subjects.

Even anecdotal evidence from your own experience is subject to confounding factors - anyone visiting your house will be more susceptible to the odours than you.

You might believe it and the balance of evidence might be in favour but I don't think you can claim to 'know' it.

it's ok, it was an amateur study. It can't have been carried out by experts as he has previously stated experts are not to be trusted and he ignores them.

So, an amateur postmortem study of 18 people is guaranteed 100% fact.

You could say the facts are dead right...

Men have bigger brains than women, but that doesn't mean they're more intelligent. Einstein had a tiny brain.

Women have bigger breasts than men, but men are likely to make bigger tits of themselves.

Size/quantity isn't everything, it's how you use it (as I tell myself whenever I look down) ;-)

(The same with colors. It's not like guys couldn't distinguish more than six, most just don't care.)

xkcd's color-naming experiment indicated that there isn't a real difference between the number of colors men distinguish vs. women, but there are real differences in what they call them. Men are more likely to name colors by just combining or modifying other color names, while women are more likely to have a specific name for the color.

Also nobody can spell "fuchsia", and asking people to name colors for too long drives them completely insane.

They can if they know the name of the person it was named after.

Ironically, I found it misspelt 'fuschia' as an answer to a newspaper crossword clue.

It is named after a person with half white, half black hair.

Some of us like to think of ourselves as writers and have to care. Hence my agonies over exactly the right shade of green for the female lead's prom dress in 'Gay!' ;-)
