At one time hand gloves for people to wear made with fox fur as the lining were seen as the best warm gloves for wearing during winter. Never wore any, but I have read and heard about them. Personally, I found sheepskin gloves with the fur on the inside the the best, and rabbit skin aren't too far behind in warmth.

Foxfire books are popular for off the grid survival techniques. Using them as lining for gloves seems a little wasteful, unlike last year's Farmers Almanac in the outhouse on a string which is good recycling. Or composting.
I'm not aware of any massage fir stories on SOL. I'm guessing there are massage with a birch stories, but thats a squick too far for me. Massaged with birch in a sauna by a sinneer would be a Finnish The Damned Story.

When I lived in Chicago, I actually tried some (men's driving gloves) and they were incredibly warm, fashionable and easy to use, however they were also quite pricey. You just can't admit to wearing them with your drinking buddies. :(
