Just started reading The Third Son by g younger and it made me want to read an old story

The boy was rushed away from his parents (the king and queen) before they died and after he grows up he's back to take what's his. I belive he's the leader of mercenaries that have struck fear around the area. People fear him and he has some type of nickname

Sounds like Jay Cantrell's The Rise of Azkoval. Unfortunately, it's incomplete and inactive for 2 years. The author's life has changed, and he hasn't been writing.
