Engineer works for the Corp of Engineers and is located in Davenport Iowa. His old college friend now in the Army is transferred in to take command of the facility. While in college her, I believe her boyfriend, beat up the subject severely.

There are several military "corps", although the Marines get most of the glory. In addition to the Corps of Engineers there is the Signal Corps, the Medical Corps, and the unit size between Division and Army is a Corps. She was rotten to the corps but delightful to the Infantry.
