I probably post this before, but couldn't find it in searching the forum. Young man, apparently independently wealthy enough to not have to work, is living on his grandfather's small ranch in Texas. His two hobbies are writing for SOL and quick-draw contests. One day he wakes up and finds he has been transported back to his grandfather's time. Meets a young lady he is attracted to and crosses the path of a wanted gunman. At end of story he returns to the present time, and meets a girl identical to the the one he fell for in the past.
