Teen is questioned at his workplace where his boss has been murdered (maybe antique/magic shop). His dad comes to take him home and the boy then teleports them home surprising the dad.

I know I have read the story not sure it was on SOL but it reminds me of one of Monblade stories I think the Gifted.

MC is not a guy but does transport in Pantheon
