After much searching I came across the archive of previous Clitorides winners and there was the author name I'd been looking for. Scouring the internet returns no results at all except in the Way back machine but of course you can only see the early paragraphs. Does anyone have any information about what happened to the 20 stories by this author or the author themselves?

Follow those links and you will see a honking great clue as to what happened to the stories. As to "why?", I found a Wordpress blog belonging to someone of that name and he has very definitely found God. Of course that may be someone else.
Looking at the current version of the 2015 list, I can see that JRyter deleted his stories. Of course we know that they are back again but the links have not been reinstated. Not that I see any reason to "fix that".
