I remember reading a story that starts in the rainforest of Africa the character goes through many changes eventually ending up in Ice Age Europe. I would love to find it again. It has a female main character who starts a young woman living in the rain forests

Thanks for the pointer. It wasn't Aubie56 though. I did scan his stories and it wasn't there. If it helps this was written with a fairly realistic style and the knowledge of the Paleolithic.
