It might have been 'Eyes of the Asura' by Quill Moniker, but it seems to have been deleted :-(

Not much use to the OP, but it does tell us when and why. I don't know why the weird filename, unless it was an interim one that was changed (after ch.6). The blurb:
Daniel Das lives with his uncle in post-super London, the Hero League's primary hub. He's spent all of his twenty-one years waiting to awaken a metagene, but it hasn't happened yet. The cut-off age is rapidly approaching, and he's losing hope. The last thing Daniel wants is to become another statistic. Fortunately for Daniel, family secrets don't stay in the dark when supernatural forces are at play.
How did you get the blurb? All I get from that link is the story was not found. the date it was deleted, and the reason it was deleted. The blurb is not there.
Perhaps he downloaded a copy before it was deleted.
That raises a point. Should the blurb be present on the deletion notice to help readers with lost stories?
AJ
Why help people find an unavailable story? If an author deleted it then (s)he does not want it to be available here, and a fair proportion of departing authors delete their entire presence here in one fell swoop.
Should the blurb be present on the deletion notice to help readers with lost stories?
I can see both sides of this; on the one hand, the deletion notice is only served if a link into a deleted story is followed so you wouldn't see the description unless you already know the story (so there's no point), but otoh if you follow a link you bookmarked 'for later' and do get the blurb in the deletion notice, you're more likely to remember that the story has been deleted when you later remember parts of the plot, so are less likely to post a 'lost story' request
If you found the deletion notice and recognised the story from the blurb, you'd know not to search for the story on SOL any further.

How did you get the blurb? ... The blurb is not there.
AJ is correct, I'd downloaded a copy (incomplete, to ch.48) about two months earlier. The clue is my referencing a filename change after Ch.6 (https://storiesonline.net/s/24037/chapter-6-0-5 to https://storiesonline.net/s/24037/chapter-7-eyes-of-the-asura). The saved [More info] page shows update periods increasing rapidly from an initial daily to monthly when I saved it, so I would guess the next update was due around the time it was actually deleted. I remember having problems getting the deletion notice when I noticed it had gone (on 2021-05-02) because of the noted name change; the link I would normally construct (https://storiesonline.net/s/24037/eyes-of-the-asura) didn't work, nor did the chapter links like the one above for chapter 7 (which is actually chapter 6 because of a prologue). I've not yet read it, but from the blurb it probably doesn't really suit my tastes, and will be moved to the 'not worth wasting storage on' category.
It's easy to spot when stories have been deleted - the story ID (24037 in this case) is reused, so instead of increasing normally, the most recently posted story's ID suddenly decreases by a chunk - unless the story in question had only just been posted, as happened for 'Li-gals - Candy and Bunny' which was taken down within hours, not surprising since from the blurb it sounded like the author was trying to do an end-around on the minimum age rule, but confusing me because my 'last story posted' time record didn't exist on the 'New Stories' page when I looked later, although luckily I still had open an older copy of the New Stories page from before the deletion so I could see what had happened. and also follow the link to see why it was deleted - for 'Inappropriate Contents' (I've still got that deletion notice open, which is where I got the link from - this one's in the 'Holy crap, don't touch this stuff' category).
Like I said can't remember the title but I searched Asura and that is a small diety in Hinduism, so that sounds right. Thanks!
Thanks to all who replied. This has told me I wasn't crazy(well kinda) and now I need to just find it somewhere else or forget it. Also how do you close one of these?
You don't. Lazeez will occasionally delete or lock threads, but only if certain forum rules are violated.
Now we either turn the thread into a pun fest or a flame war.
I want to thank everyone who replied. Many sent me a link to the story just don't know the rules here so didn't want to say it. But since I don't want a new email every day or so I am just gonna acknowledge them. Thanks again!
