I am re-reading Ascension of the Alpha Male and it reminded me of at least one other story. The MC has an uncle who 'died' but isn't really dead and is being hunted by a secret organization.
The other concept that sticks in my mind is that the MC takes up temporary residence in a hotel suite that ends up pretty much becoming permanent.

I think the Uncle and the mineshaft got triggered by Vyagar's cave/ The hotel story by the personal concierge and suite at the beginning of Alpha Male. But as I said, the ideas have blended in my memory.

I'm having difficulty separating a memory of the exact match, because I remember one with the MC being part Native, going on the run with a collection of beautiful (and deadly) girls, mostly living out of hotels (and increasing the harem as they go).
