Cult

tangoperu ๐Ÿšซ

Hi

What I remember of this story is that the MC is brought in to an Amish-like cult to become the leader because their men are leaving the cult in droves and it is disappearing.

The MC discovers that in their effort to make a women-friendly society, girls in the cult are treated like princesses and boys are treated as servants, girls have their own rooms and boys sleep all in a barn, girls can have sex with the elders and among them, boys must remain celibate, that kind of thing, so naturally most boys end despising their sisters or leaving the cult.

Can anyone help me to find it? TIA

@tangoperu

I recall GMW writing a cult-based story... "Will You Do This for Me?"
Can't recall details, and it was on her site, not SOL. Not sure if it's the one you're thinking of.

This sounds very like Gina Marie Wylie's Will you do this for me?; he was brought back into the cult, having been sent away with his mother so he could develop in a more worldly fashion. There was a snowstorm and a remote cabin, and he saves the life of an FBI agent who was shadowing him trying to show he'd kidnapped some girls.

ETA: If I hadn't delayed to set up the link, I'd have probably been first. Still, giving the (SOL) link aught to count for something...

ETA2: Now I'm going to have to reread it again; I'll wedge it between White Dragon (reading now) and Dragondrums (up next)

Nah. I paused to find the exact name on her site. If I'd rushed, I could've answered faster.

Also, 'aught' is zero, aught ought to be ought.

@bk69

'aught' is zero, aught ought to be ought.

Well, both are used for zero, though the O form is more used for the rough synonym of 'should', but the A form is also used for that here in North Yorkshire... we're both right (though some in these forums, I'm sure, would argue that we're both wrong)

@madnige

also used for that here in North Yorkshire

Ah. So just the english language being what it usually is, then...
