Help finding lost story please

1# Sorry for my bad english please bear with me.

2# The SciFi story I lost plays in a big color and mathematical code mall-typ building.
Young people are invited for a Halloween ? Party. The are separeted in small groups and discover in the morning after they are captured in the mall.
The must learn to work as a group to survive,to secure food, to fight other groups. the mall is the source for food, weapons and the battleground between the survivors. In the end they learn Earth, Mankind and they themselfs are Chessfigures in a intergalactic intrigue.

CRS is crawling up again. I even have the story in my local library so I must have read it a long time ago. But I didn't recognize any of the hints. Time to read it again, it will probably read as a new story to me so CRS sometimes does have some advantages :D
