Looking for a story which involves:
An American who invents some sort of drive which makes sub-orbital and space flight cheap.
Sets up his launch hub in Africa (Nigeria?)
Becomes friends with an Australian family and marries the daughter after his American (child sweetheart) wife is killed.
He may also be involved in an accident in a research lab that sends him back in time - but that might be me confusing stories together.
