Older story

I read a story a few years back about a guy who hears his wife telling her friends about the affairs she has had he was hiding in the basement and his wife didn't know he was home one of the friends see him through the basement window when the get together is breaking up and gives him a look of sorrow.

I remember it was a flash story where finding out what his wife did causes him to have blackouts in the lucid memory after leaving his house a cop asks him if he is okay and he remembers he has his pistol on him which he gives to the cop he ends up homeless with his wife and kids eventually tracking him down.

Any help would be to appreciated.

Sounds like something "The Wanderer" aka "Denham Forrest" would do, do you read his stories? (Otherwise we'll have to look further afield).

@Dinsdale

Yes I have read through all the Wanderer and Denham Forest stories and it is not one of them.

But thanks anyway.

Its on Lit. Thats all I can recall. Edit: Radk's Real Life Tragedy has the cops finding a husband in a park after his mind breaks and he killed his wife and her lover. They shoot him when he raises his pistol. Not the story you are looking for, that one has the husband suffering from episodic mental problems for the rest of his life, with the wife constantly trying to save him.

I remember this story. His mental breakdown lasts forever with a few lucid times, years apart. The wife gets older and older every time, until he sees her as an elderly woman.

Thanks for the tip. A well done but very sad story. The author is Radk, not Radko. I guess he likes that particular scenario.

@Radagast

I guess he likes thst particular scenario.,

Or he was trying to excise demons by writing variations of an event that happened...
