In this one she files for divorce and the lawyers, both his and hers say he doesn't stand a chance so she gets everything. He goes off and live in... I think Yosemite national park?... and is basically completely off the grid for a couple of years. He finds the body and home of someone who lived there as a pioneer. Lived off the land. And when he came back his ex wife and his previous lawyer were in jail for murdering him as they had been having an affair and worked together to get everything. Lawsuits ensue.

I don't know the story, but I want to read it also.

The setup of a guy disappearing and making trouble for his ex sounds like Blood And Iron by Warlord, but he disappeared into the woods of Minnesota or Michigan, and I don't believe the story got to him returning to the real world.

This one never left the real world. He was in the mountains in California. He parked near some public area where his vehicle would be found. He took a gun and plenty of ammo. I'm struggling to remember anything else.
