I was helped last time I asked so thanks alot. The story I'm thinking of now I read quite some time ago. I remember it was kind of a coming of age western a young man leaves his family to escape the civil war and if I remember right he ends up in Colorado with a couple of friends and helps a family and they start a ranch I remember the main young man is good at training horses.
