If I remember, starts with being stranded while traveling on an isolated road in a storm and the hero then fixes a hole in the roof / walls of a great house after a tree falls thru it in the night - seem to recall he's traveling with daughters ... and then romantic intrigue begins with his hostess realizing his desirability as a great all-around but unassuming guy. Several recipes are mentioned during the course of the story; each comes with a mysterious sound effect due to the magnificence of the recipes (moo, eagle screaming, ..)
