With all this "home" time, I'm enjoying rereading stories that I have enjoyed here in the past. One that I can't remember the name of was a middle age set story (with fictitious country names) where a young man was raised by his Mother, who is a Noble Woman in her original homeland, but she was married off and raised her son in a different country. He is forced to go to the original country where he becomes the "Princess' Protector". Does anyone remember the name of this story?

that's the story I was thinking of too,,,change mother to step-mother, and not forced to leave his country but goes voluntarily to his step-mom's country to avoid the priesthood, and it fits,,,
