Without giving too much of the plot away the MC is on his way home in the LA area on his motorcycle when a women driving the other directed and under the influence, crashes through a construction barrier and hits him head on. He is going to school at USC (I think) but is from Montana.
Also know there are a few other stories about the residents of the Montana town, including a band, a female ex-con and a professional dominatrix.
