Dave1 wrote superb stories of he and wife Sharon for years, probably got tired and reported his wife's "death" and quit writing under that name...He was too good a writer to QUIT WRITING so I am looking for his "new authors name". I admit it, I'm hooked on his writing!!
There doesn't seem to be a Dave1 as an author on SOL. I don't remember any author of that name or story written by Dave1. Please suggest somewhere his stories appear or a few titles so I can search.

Jean- The woman next door;
There are a couple of others as well, but nothing I know of since 2009. He was on SOL when those were posted.

If the stories are no longer available on SOL, then the odds are the author himself removed them (i.e. it's unlikely he was dead at the time). However, it's only sometimes that authors remove stories in order to publish them. I'm guessing his wife's death hit him hard, and he couldn't stand the self-reflecting isolation that writing requires due to his lasting depression.
It happens, and is certainly easier to justify than the 'my new wife forced her religion down the throats of my readers' one.

Like you I really like his stories and continued to search for more of his work with no luck.
I actually corresponded with him for a while when he was posting his stories but he corresponded much in the same way he posted, often when he was in the mood and then zero when he'd removed his stories from SOL. Something he did a few times before he stopped posting altogether.
I archived his 3 main stories, Winter Wonderland, Jean and Miltiary Separation but didn't get the others before he pulled them, if you see this and would be willing to share please send them to

Hi there change1. I corresponded for a while with Dave 1/Dave1, and he was good enough to email more stories until everything abruptly stopped.
He agreed with my suggestion that there were elements in the stories of himself and his wife, of the work of Kay Taylor/Parker, who, I believe, went on to work in the field of psychology. She's in her 70's now. The last time I received an email from Dave there was I think the name "Tracey Mullen" or something similar within the address. My copies of the excellent stories went the way of an old computer which, for some reason, objected to a cup of coffee being spilt all over it when I tripped over. To say the least, it's been quite a while ago now, but I would be grateful if you could email me with any stories that you may still have.
