The MC is a very intelligent boy who is hated by his family and treated very badly particularly by his (step) father and brother. He wants to advance through years in school and possibly take college classes and passes all the relevant tests and his teachers and wives of military offices are all in favour but his family refuse to allow it and send him to live with his aunt and uncle who have 2 daughters. They had witnessed the (step) father's brutality towards him in prior years but had been refused permission to take him home with them. Eventually he finds out his actual Father runs a number of garages. He ends up advancing through school at an accelerated rate and goes to colleague where after seeing his picture in the paper his mum comes to try and take him home and gets violent towards him and is arrested.
After that my memory of the story gets fuzzy. Does anyone recognise it please.
