Longer Swarm Story

I've read the descriptions of all 274 listed Swarm stories and can't find this one. Longer story about setting up pre-packs and finding a pickup. At one point a group is sitting on the patio of a restaurant across from a burger joint that is rumored to have a pick-up scheduled. It turns into a zoo scene and then a pick-up happens inside their restaurant. Either his or his girlfriends mom agrees to be the concubine of a contractor. Friend of M/C gets good score and turns into ass at school and becomes his enemy.

I think the scene you described is in the last chapter of Allen Joyal's 'Building a CAP Based Future'.

-- Actually, the scene described is earlier, in Ch. 23, and not quite as described - the pickup occurs at a next-door restaurant, and later there's a pickup at the restaurant the MC and party are at but they're on the patio just outside the interdiction field. In the last chapter, the pickup actually occurs at the original rumoured restaurant, where the MC and party are. I recently re-read this because of the tree-houses in it.

I am pretty sure the three stories are interlinked; they are the Starbucks Incident, the Starbucks Aftermath, the Librarian.

I do remember another story with a similar scene, but can't recall the author. If I can dredge up the braincell it is attached to, I will update.

Ummm, Sparky has already confirmed he was thinking of the Allan Joyal story. DeGaffer's stories may have a similar plot - and/or predate AJ's - but that has ceased to matter.
