I think there is a series of four stories. Set in mid to late 21st century after a lot of war. The muslims nuke lots of U.S. cities and after ten years of fighting muslims in Middle East and in S. America against a Colombian/Venezuelan alliance a sort of peace reigns. Main character served in unit which had the nickname "Lost Boys" from Peter Pan story. He had two boats, one for chartering and a smaller one for his own private use, called "Katherine" after his murdered wife. He meets a female singer, he calls Tinker Bell, which he shortens to Tink, at times. He has a lot of problems with the local law in his town he calls "Bumfuck" in Florida. One of the baddies who is a deputy is called Dwight. An unsung hero in the story is a great big gator called "Roscoe" or "Big Roscoe"
