Hi, this one won't be easy, but I hope someone can help me. I've been going over stories I want to re-read and there's one I can't quite find. It isn't exactly helping that I can't remember a lot about it, besides the fact that I loved it. Here's what I can remember:
- male lead, probably teenaged, might have been younger
- goes to college being to young and besides learning get's studied. Could have been because he's a genius, or supernatural abilities.
- has a researcher/professor sort of mentor who falls seriously ill along the way, probably cancer. I think he died.
- might have been a do-over story, but couldn't find it going through the first hundred or so stories in said category
- very likely a fairly long story, since I prefer those.
Any help finding the story would be appreciated.
