mind control with a prophecy

Guy gets mind control powers and is hunted by others with similar powers.
One of the hunters is a woman that falls for him.
They escape to Mexico. Guy 'downloads' a local mind so he can speak Spanish, which is supposed to be impossible.
This is one of the indicators of the prophecy.
