This is a story series that I have in my collection, but can't find.
Boy (teenager) is on a hike with another boy. The other boy cheats and tries to kill the first.
Injured boy finds a cave, and is healed. a few months later he goes back to family and friends.
Series is four stories and sort of slowing sinks into an abrupt end.
