I seem to recall that scene in a story I've read in the past couple of months. Just don't remember the title or character names.
If I remember correctly, the MC was following his girlfriend or whoever she was and ended up in some higher-end neighborhood where the house party was being held. He found some windows around back where the curtains weren't completely closed. I also seem to recall a balcony or raised porch area where some people came out for a break. There was another girl outside that was watching, too. I think maybe she got invited to the parties at a later time and knew to close the curtains so the MC couldn't watch her?
I don't think it was one of Xalir's stories but it seems to me it had his style and polish. It was definitely teens involved (at least in the one I'm thinking about).
