Sounds like Lucky Jim II by FantasyLover. I can't remember what chapter he finds the skeletons, VERY old whiskey etc in :)

Both stories mentioned are on the US south-east coast with Lucky Jim 2 being a bit further south than Bell Whistle. However, while Bell Whistle involves on building and a set of tunnels to the bay with an old pirate store with some treasure, Lucky Jim 2 involves multiple buildings and tunnels including modern day drug deals and weapon deals and shoot outs. No shooting in Bell Whistle.
I'm going to have to go read Bell Whistle, sounds interesting.

They took my computer and my peace of mind, but my memory has been put away somewhere so safe I'm not sure where it is, and that was years ago.
