I've read a story here before where in the main char a guy was a son of a noble and he inherited the estate and a ring. The ring gave him long life and the story was about his exploits as a lord and with women. The ring also gave him power to control or influence women. I remember that the story ended with him dying in the early 2000s and telling his successor to use the ring after he died.
