I think maybe it's Mike and Malok by mcguy101, or Nowhere Man by Gordon Johnson. Both have wives/lovers sent back to eventually re-connect with MC.

This was the one that I was thinking about, but the ex wife was Sonya. I am sure I remember a similar story with a Diane though
Cmsix had a story or two where a wife or girlfriend was sent back after the MC had his harem started, but they're behind the paywall now and I can't recall which one it was.
It appears that the only cmsix story containing a "Diane" is Nanovirus.

This might be it. Bob's wife Karen has passed she talks to him when he is sleeping. he is recruited by aliens to go to another planet with neanderthal etc.
Change the name to rose i would say it is 6 days on the road by cmsix.

Unless he or someone he trusts (doubtful) logs into his account the stories will remain archived. I agree his stories stirred up a lot of debates. The debates had both good sides and bad sides.
