Story about small spec-ops military unit coming to planet to investigate/quell possible rebellion. Each member was bonded to a different kind of animal. One had a big cat, another an owl or some type of raptor, etc. They stay in a warehouse run by their local contact whose partner bird permanently mates with the team mamber's.
