Another Lost Story Request

Now I am not even sure where I read this, so I will just go with the only scene I remember, and hope you guys come up with the goods :)

A guy and two girls had been interviewing some women for a job (Secretary ? Housekeeper ?) and were travelling (taxi ?) from lunch. The guy mentions two of the women were not really suitable, and the girls comment that the third had been flashing her boobs (if I recall correctly). The guy points out that she was actually a thief and lists the things he saw her take.

One of the interviewees was the daughter / niece or other close relation to an existing employee.

That's all I remember, just that one scene :(

I don't know why, but the story that popped into my mind was the 'Second Time Through' series by Phil Brown.

I have read most of these, so it could really be any one of them, but just finished A New Past by Charlie Foxtrot and Six-Months Turnaround by Morgan, so I know it's neither of them.

I do seem to recall some ESP or other powers involved, which is how the main character knows about the stolen stuff. I am sure he has just inherited the family fortune or business.

Thanks. I don't know if it is the one grandad-rufus is seeking, but it is certainly the one that has been nagging away at my mind where that scene was concerned and which I couldn't recall.

are those carter stories stand alone stories or do you have follow thru the 1st?i only ask as i am not a big fan of gay scenes/stories.

It helps to read them all as events occurring in one are referred to in another.
As far as the M/M is concerned, it is minor and can easily be skipped. It also isn't graphic and you shouldn't let it put you off at all. I think it is only in two out of all of the stories and only a quick scene. I am not a fan either, but it didn't put me off and the rest of the series is a good read.
He is an excellent author and while they are a bit moralistic, that isn't pushed too hard. If you only want to read one, try Oscar Meyers as a tester. Stands alone as well as being related, and very well written.

I finally found this. It was in a story I was editing / proof reading. The author has stopped writing (I guess) as I have not seen anything new on any of their stories for a while. At least I now know where it came from :)

It was to be his magnum opus, it would have been a multi book work, but he just stopped writing.
