Forum: Lost Stories

If all the title says is Lost Story, I'm not looking at it

Tw0Cr0ws ๐Ÿšซ

This is the Lost Story Forum.
By definition every thread on here is a request for help finding a lost story.

Catch my attention, let me know if I might be interested in that kind of story myself because then I may have read it and can find it.

I complained about this a few months back. I support your plea but it will do no good. Ignorance & Apathy rule - The ones who do this do not know and do not care.

@Wheezer

I am guilty of do this. But it is not that I do not care, but sometimes there is no way to put a meaningful title in the title. If I tried it would become a cryptology exercise to decode it.

Also sometime people are requesting help for 2 or more
stories, which would make the title even more convoluted.

I am not a good writer or a wordsmith with a vast vocabulary to create the title for the request and that is why I go for the simple "Looking for story(ies), not to insult you or because it irritates you.

But I would really like to thank all the people that help me even though it might appear that I am being rude.

Thanks

You're not being rude. There really isn't much you can put in the subject.

I have to agree. Anything other than 'looking for xxx' where xxx is the genre, story type or number of stories is going to be uninformative.

As for myself, I read them all and the subject does not matter. If it states the obvious, so what. It is still someone asking for assistance if not eloquently.

I agree.

If you do remember something that can be put into a few words in the subject, great! But if not, I still look at it -- primarily because the volume of requests is relatively low.

I tend to agree with the OP in that titles can be a little more descriptive than "Lost Story". How about "Lost Brother/Sister Story"? Or "Lost Post-Apocalyptic Story"? Or "Lost Science Fiction Story"? Or....well, you get the picture. Just that little bit is way more likely to draw my attention. And you need not be Earnest Heminway to come up with it. Or even Lazlo Zalezec.
