Looking for a story about a boy whose mother died and he went west to be a rancher. He won red roan (horse) in a contest. he had several shoot outs and learned about sex on the way. In the end he own a big ranch with several brides and lots of kids on the way.
I think the story you're after is The Drifter by JRyter - all of his books have been pulled. The story description was:
The story of a boy who spends his younger days living in a rundown shack beside a railroad. The lonesome sound of the outward bound, gives the boy a restless itch to go west. He's thirteen when his Ma dies, and the yearning to follow the restless wind grows until there comes a day he can no longer deny his need to roam. There is some sex in this story, as the boy begins learning how to be a man.
Why are J. Ryter's stories removed?
He wants to generate income from them, so he moved to Patreon and felt he wouldn't get much money there if he left the stories up here as freebies, so he had them removed from the site.
edit to add: He has a link to his Patreon page, but be warned Patreon is a mash-up site that draws a lot of code from several other sites, and they include 4 sites known for pushing ads at you. The only time I was able to look at his page there I had to turn off all of my on-line security systems to do so because the off-site code kept triggering warnings.
