H2OWader

Sparky-1953 ๐Ÿšซ

Did H2OWader ever manage to get his stories published? I'm particularly interested in the time travel series named Black Water or Black River. It was set in the antebellum South with the MC finding love and fighting racism on both sides of the color line. When he pulled them he wrote about continuing or expanding the story line.

The only story I've heard of him writing is Winds set on a plantation with the Wind in its name, the plantation is on the Black River. As far as I know it was never published and the only version I've seen wasn't finished. There was a few threads on her about it with the title in the thread name. Starts with a time travel trip in tornado.

Just looked up, H2)wader in Authors. There are only 3 stories listed, none of them Winds. Where can I find both Winds?

He yanked it, at his publisher's insistence, but the publisher then 'changed their minds' about the project. He substantially changed the story, trying to find a new publisher (hence why you've never seen the new version) but hasn't had much luck selling it to anyone.

IIRC He initially yanked it to try for publication. He came back later and said he had no luck so reposted it. He then yanked it again, and it has stayed that way.

I've got a couple different versions of "Winds' and one each of 'Winds The Way West" and 'Winds 2'. I can't remember where I picked up the copies of the last two, but the one copy of 'Winds' and 'Winds The Way West' both have "The End" in them. Haven't gone back over them in years so don't remember all the details.

And I'm sorry, but don't ask me for copies. I used to do that, but after the discussions on here we have had on Intellectual Property, I have decided to stop that.

The decision by some on the forum (possibly you too) was that we could restore legally acquired stories that someone lost, but not hand out copies to those who never acquired them in the first place. It was always a legally dubious distinction, but one which the authors are unlikely to fight you over.

It's a bitch when your computer or HD crashes and you lose you're entire story library!

I seem to recall that he extended it when he renamed it in an attempt to get published. I seem to recall something about it having been published (or there were plans in the works), but I'm not sure on either point.

I missed the original posting, but I did pick up a copy of a .mobi file of Winds with a copyright date of 2011. The file is 1.3 mb and ends with a date of Sept 7 1842 with a so much unresolved it was clear it was unfinished.

If there's more out there I'd like to know where I can get it or be sent a copy.

I have a .epub of Winds that ends on the same date. I'm pretty sure that's all that exists. :(

If I remember correctly his name was Wade Waters hence H2O Wader. He stated this in some discussion I read long ago.
