I don't remember a grandma in STaD, and the need to masturbate (rather, to orgasm) in STaD was a fake doctor's diagnosis driven by a neighbour, so I don't think this is it - the most obvious feature of STaD is the pictures, which I would have thought the OP would mention if it was. That said, STaD was my first thought too.
