The history vanished? The author too? What happened?
Unless he told Lazeez (or someone else who watches the forum) there is no way of telling.
There are some common reasons an author might have to ask Lazeez to remove their stories.
1) Author wanted to remove the dreaded yellow-stripe indicating an abandoned story.
2) Author got pissed at SOL and decided to yank all his stories (probably why Lazeez prevents authors from deleting stories, since many authors would delete file one minute, then regret it the next)
2a) Author decided to "go commercial" and signed a contract that mandated that they remove their work from free sites.
3) Authors 'get religion', and no longer want to write particular types of stories (typically after they meet a new spouse).

True, but it never gives us a reason for the author's request :(

That's true, but the author doesn't have to give Lazeez a reason, either, so there's no point in requiring. However, what is interesting is the number of times some reason other than 'Author's Request' is stated. Things like:
Messed up text, plagiarism, posted under another name, duplicated, merged with xxxx, not really a story, inappropriate contents. Author's request is, by far, the most common. But I do love the one 'Insignificant and abandoned.'

Inactive serial. One chapter submitted, 600 words. Basic idea for a story with no development and the author hasn't logged into the site since 2005.
Yeah, insignificant and abandoned.
Every once in a while I search for abandoned serials in one part and under 5 KB and take a look to see if they're worth keeping.

Yeah, insignificant and abandoned.
Yeah, good call. I just found it an interesting description, is all.
Didn't the author say in a blog they wanted to rewrite the story? I seem to remember something about fixing plot holes.

He may have, I didn't see it.
I seem to remember something about fixing plot holes.
Would you really want to fix holes in a plot about holes? :)

I have a Premium account.
What is the link? The "Removed" link on my 'Library' page only shows the last 100 removed stories, the last dated Feb 2, 2018. How or where did you find out that it was deleted on Aug 26, 2018? I looked at my preferences for the 'Library' page and didn't see anything that referenced deleted stories.
he "Removed" link on my 'Library' page only shows the last 100 removed stories,
That's all the link shows is the last 100 removed stories, but if the activity is low you have a lot longer period being shown. For me to have seen the date it must have still been within the last 100 at the time I posted the message.
Micro gates was actually a story about someone who created "quantum tunnels" between a pair of rings which he called "gates" and added the prefix "Micro" since they were so small.
Later gates were larger with the radius of the largest ones measuring thousands of miles.
I pulled the story and all my stories in a fit of pique. I now regret it. I've since lost the entire Micro Gates story, including the final chapter. This I regret even more, as if very much like to read it again. I know that my editors have copies of them but i don't even remember who i sent them too. My data loss was so severe i don't even have a record of who i sent them too!
If you're the author, you might be able to obtain a copy of your story from one of the readers who downloaded it.

The original PT Brainum account is still in the database (without the pen name). If you contact me through that account, I have text files of what was on the site at the time of deletion. I can send them to you.
Hello,
If you are the author PT Brainum I have Clash of The Cretins, Micro Gates and Time to Protect Earth if you need them.
Thanks
Glen
I put in the request, if i can get it again, i can hopefully repost it, find the person who edited the final chapter, and get that posted too! It's by far my favorite story ever written, it rattled around in my brain for years, and the only way to get it out was to write it. Once i write it, it stays gone. Which means if i want to enjoy it again, i have to re read it myself.
