Can't remember the name or author of a story.

Tried searching for several words but not sure if the words were correct.

Details are a bit fuzzy. MC ends up in a house. Maybe inherited it. House had lower level. Somehow, he discovers that he has visitors living downstairs who've been there for years. I believe a large vault door protects the inhabitants.

Visitors are aliens and have tunnels where they live and have workshops. They also go outside at night and hunt game to eat which puts has local game warden searching for them.

For some reason, one of the three leaders, who is in suspended animation/stasis has to be revived to answer a question.

I remember the story, but CRS dictates that I can't remember the author or title. It was a great one.

This is it. MC inherits the house with aliens living in an underground cave. They can't survive the modern pollution so the cave has highly filtered air. Cave access is via the pop machine… there is a second alien race that will provide transportation to another world but is in suspended animation until his associates arrive with space ship

At the end of "The Heir," it says there's a sequel called "Here and There." It's not on SOL. Does anyone know if it's available anywhere?
