MC uses Twin Blades

Accessing the SOL hive mind to find a old story.

From what I remember, the main character uses twin blades to fight. I think he was trained by the "old man" who lived on the beech who was god in disguise,and I think he has a sister who may or may not have been a priestess of some kind. Its possible there was king/prince who was told about a prophecy by an oracle that someone would challenge his right to rule but that might have been a different story.

I'm moderately sure there was a redhead dragon lady at some point but this was quite a long time ago (10 years+) and I've read thousands of books since then so things can sometimes get mixed up. But the MC definitely was a dual wielder in his fighting.

Do you remember what length the two blades were?
• two blades of equal length which works best for an ambidextrous fighter;
• long sword and short sword, like the Katana / Wakizashi combination used by Japanese samurai;
• sword and dagger combinations used more by western swordsmen.
A few months ago I read a story where the MC had a double-bladed sword which could be separated as two swords or used as a two-handed broadsword.
Knowing about the sword lengths will probably eliminate quite some stories.

I can't remember exactly but I think he wore two sword swords across his back in a X shape.

Yes, it was "Runesward". Due to CRS I couldn't remember the title when I wrote my posting. Hours later I finally remembered the story title but because – as you stated – it wasn't what the OP looked for, I didn't bother to update my posting with the title.

I forget the story title and author, but a few months ago was reading a story about an orphan. I think he was an Australian. A few months before his mother died/was killed, she and his Sensi gifted him with a matched set of blades from a famous Japanese sword maker. He used both a Katana / Wakizashi(?) combination most of the time when fighting. Possible a Ernest Bywater or OZ Ozzie story.

I believe you are talking about the Al Adams series - https://storiesonline.net/series/835/al-adams. Al eventually hits Damsels in Distress and Chaos too
