Wrinkle in Time by G Younger

PotomacBob 🚫

"Getting it Right" by G Younger says it is the second story in the Wrinkle in Time trilogy. If I search for Wrinkle in Time using advanced search, several stories come up but the only one by G Youmger is "Getting it Right." What was the name of the first story of the trilogy?

My understanding is that 'Getting it Wrong' was the first in the trilogy and the third book isn't out there yet. At least, I'm pretty certain it's never been on SOL.

Getting it Wrong is the first one. It is on G Younger's web site and on zbookstore.

The author has a habit of sharing the stories, but once the final chapter is posted removes them so he can monetize the story due to conflicts of TOS between SOL and The Big River. At least that is my understanding (that and selfishly he probably hopes you buy other books!). He's still giving back to his target audience, but if you want to read the story long term you need to help make sure he gets paid for his effort of writing which is understandable.

due to conflicts of TOS between SOL and The Big River.

My understanding is that the issue is entirely with the big river's self publishing rules.

Specifically, the big river's rules state that if they find a book available anywhere else for less than the big river price they can lower the price to match the other site.

Now consider what happens with that rule if the big river finds a story published on their site for $8.99 available for free somewhere else.

Again, this isn't a conflict with SOL's rules. It is entirely internal to the big river's rules.

Probably my ignorance, my point being for commercial reasons the stories may be shortly held here in chapter form. But I think it's respectable that the author looks to make some money from their effort was my angle. I appreciate that the chapter format shows up here for me to review even if it's temporary.

Right-- a fairly minor policy on the part of big river, intended to increase their market share at the expense of the author's control, has a side effect of taking stories away those of us as whose fiction budget is zero.

The original, "Getting It Wrong", is no longer on the site—even on the archived system—but if you jump to the last page, it lists the first books for sale. Thus there's no way to download it anymore, so SOL readers, who generally prefer reading a story before paying to encourage more stories by favored authors, largely get short changed.

Plus, his books aren't cheap. With prices that expensive, I'd rather buy a traditionally published book with better production values. No offense to struggling authors, but I'm just less inclined to purchase something of unknown quality for those prices.
