Banadin

rustyken ๐Ÿšซ

Does anyone know what happened to Banadin's stories? I started reading the Richard Jackson series again, and was surprised when it abruptly ended. This was not what I remembered, on checking the author's page I was surprised to find only one shown. It was the version that ended abruptly. On looking at my saved stories, I found an earlier version, along with two others of the series. So does anyone know what happened to the series or the author? The authors comment page shows several stories on Bookapy, but a search doesn't find them.

Stories were removed for commercial publication. The initial sections were reposted here, with a different division into parts.

Yea, I found where I can purchase his stories, but not sure I want to spend the money. It is a good series of stories, but.......

There are 15 plus books in the series. Quite an interesting read and probably worth paying for. I believe they are free if you have the big river's book reader subscription. You have to check about this.

The story went from "I can believe it" to "Oh give me a break."

It's a problem of power creep. While I still found the later books worth reading, the fun factor was definitely reduced.

I read the series as each book came out. The key to understanding this story is that the protagonist is highly intelligent, but more importantly, he assesses and reacts to situations incredibly quickly. I term such people "situational geniuses." He's also incredibly lucky (of course, this is fiction), but he is alert and smart enough to capitalize on the opportunities he's given (luck occurs when preparation meets opportunity). Nothing illustrates this more than the 14th book in the series, although it happens many times throughout.

The series starts out as an amusing coming-of-age story, and over time morphs into an alternate history story. Personally, I disagree with ystokes - I thought the series was quite a good and pleasant read throughout. But each to his own taste.

My belief? It's definitely worth the time and the money. To understand the later books, though, you should read them in order.

The 14th book had some of the old adventure feel and yes, seeing and seizing the chance.
